Prague - The Czech senior government Social Democrats (CSSD) have set up their "shadow government" - a team of "expert spokespersons" for the ministries headed by the other coalition partners, ANO and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), the daily Hospodarske noviny (HN) writes today.

The CSSD thereby wants to show that it has experts even in the sectors it is not managing, HN adds.
However, the unofficial task of the shadow ministers is to challenge the coalition partners, take note of possible mistakes committed by the ministers from the other government parties and highlight them, HN writes.
The CSSD fills eight posts in the government, including the PM, ANO has six and the smallest coalition party, the KDU-CSL, has three ministers.
HN writes that shadow governments are mostly formed by opposition parties, while the CSSD is the strongest government party, and consequently its step is quite unusual.
It is motivated by the effort to counterbalance a more and more dominant role played by the ANO movement of billionaire businessman and Finance Minister Andrej Babis, HN says.
According to latest polls, ANO would now clearly win general election in the Czech Republic, ahead of the CSSD.
HN writes that Vaclav Votava, head of the lower house´s budget committee, will become the CSSD´s expert spokesman for the Finance Ministry headed by Babis and he will comment on his work.
"I need not agree with the finance minister´s opinions in all aspects and I will present these stances of mine. However, I can also present my affirmative stances. I do not want to say that this will be directly a counterweight to the coalition parties´ ministers but if the CSSD has a different view, I will express it," Votava told HN.
Other CSSD experts for the ministries headed by ANO or the Christian Democrats are Jan Chvojka (justice), Chamber of Deputies chairman Jan Hamacek (defence), Jan Birke (transport), Robin Boehnisch (environment) and Jan Hajda (agriculture).
On the other hand, Babis has formed his team of experts to check the work of the Health Ministry headed by Svatopluk Nemecek (CSSD), HN writes.
