Na Frýdecko-Místecku se při řetězové nehodě srazilo sedm aut
Frydek-Mistek - Six Poles have been injured today in a pile-up on a Czech road which was caused by the fire of a Polish lorry transporting wood, local police spokesman Ivan Zurovec told CTK.
In all, seven people received serious injuries in the accident involving seven vehicles and many others suffered light injuries, Zurovec said.
The accident occurred this morning on the R 48 highway leading from Cesky Tesin, on the Czech-Polish border, to Frydek-Mistek.
According to the police, the number of vehicles involved should not be final.
"Four personal cars, a large bus, a Polish lorry and a Polish minibus with 16 passengers gradually crashed into each other," firefighters' spokesman Petr Kudela said, adding that six passengers from the Polish minibus were injured.
According to Zurovec, seven Poles received injuries.
The pile-up was created when the firefighters were extinguishing the fire of the Polish lorry transporting wood from Poland to Paskov via Cesky Tesin when its engine and cab burst into flames.
The fire was the cause of the pile-up as the passing drivers followed the flames and paid little attention to the traffic, Zurovec said.
