Prague - Prime Minister Jan Fischer is the only Czech politician who is trusted by a majority of people, according to a poll conducted by the Factum Invenio agency in October and released to CTK.

A total of 57 percent of people trust Fischer.

Social Democrat (CSSD) deputy chairman Bohuslav Sobotka is the second most trustworthy politician, being trusted by 35 percent.

On the contrary, the least trustworthy is Central Bohemia Regional Governor and MP David Rath (CSSD) whom over three-fourths of Czechs mistrust.

The October poll of the STEM agency has also confirmed Fischer's strong position. It shows that he is trusted by 79 percent of citizens.

Fischer has beaten even the record high trust of President Vaclav Klaus in STEM polls. He was trusted by 78 percent of citizens in the spring of 2005.
