Prague - Czech Social Democrat (CSSD) leader and probable future prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka will only meet President Milos Zeman to discuss the composition of the new government after New Year, Zeman's spokesman Jiri Ovcacek told CTK today.
Ovcacek did not give any specific date.
At first, the meeting was to be held before the end of the year.
Besides, the CSSD board will meet, probably on January 6, party spokesman Martin Ayrer told CTK today. N
At the meeting, Sobotka and the party's senior officials want to discuss candidates for ministerial posts to be nominated by the CSSD.
After this, Sobotka is to go to see Zeman.
At the weekend, representatives of the nascent coalition composed of the CSSD, ANO movement and Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) agreed on signing the coalition pact on January 6. Before this, they will probably not meet again.
The Christian Democrats and ANO have announced their candidates for ministerial posts, but Social Democrats have not officially done so.
The CSSD may be represented in the government by Milan Chovanec (Interior Ministry), Lubomir Zaoralek (Foreign Ministry), Jan Mladek (Industry and Trade Ministry), Marcel Chladek (Education Ministry) and Svatopluk Nemecek (Health Ministry).
It is unclear who will fill the post of Labour and Social Affairs Minister as Social Democrat shadow minister Roman Sklenak is also chairman of the deputy group.
The CSSD is also to occupy the post of minister without portfolio responsible for the government legislative council, human rights and equal opportunities. It may be filled with senator Jiri Dienstbier.
Zeman made it clear earlier that he was not ready to name some suggested candidates.
His reservations mainly related to Zaoralek and to Martin Stropnicky, who was proposed by ANO as defence minister.
