Plzen - Engineering company Skoda JS is in talks on supplies for prepared British reactors in Hinkley Point C with French companies EDF and Areva and the value of the order could be up to several hundreds of millions of crowns, daily Hospodarske noviny (HN) writes today.
"Yes, we are holding talks with the French companies but I cannot talk about any details yet," Skoda JS CEO Miroslav Fiala told the daily. Areva´s reps did not want to comment on the potential contract, either.
Skoda JS would supply a "nuclear island" for two reactors EPR, each of them with the output at 1600 MW. HN notes that its chances for success are high. Skoda JS has supplied components for hundreds of millions of crowns for reactors EPR in Finland, France and China that are being built by Areva.
Skoda JS, owned by Russian engineering and metallurgical group OMZ, reached a Kc247m net profit last year and its sales were worth Kc4.98bn. It exported 56 percent of output.
