Prague/ Olomouc - New Czech Prime Minister and Social Democrat (CSSD) head Sobotka believes that Petr Fiala at the Civic Democrats´ (ODS) helm will contribute to a sensible communication between the government and opposition in the Chamber of Deputies, Sobotka said today.
He congratulated Fiala on his election as ODS chairman today.
Sobotka said he wished Fiala would not resort to "the aggressive policy of zero tolerance with which the ODS in the past devastated the political culture in the country."
Opposition TOP 09 deputy chairman Miroslav Kalousek congratulated Fiala on a very strong mandate and he wished him success.
"And I am looking forward to our cooperation in the Chamber of Deputies," Kalousek added.
Fiala, 49, was supported by 80 percent of the congress delegates, he received 437 out of 546 votes. His rival candidates, MEP Edvard Kozusnik and deputy head Miroslava Nemcova, were supported by 32 and 66 delegates, respectively.
