Frenstat pod Radhostem - Firefighters found four bodies, three of children one of which was probably of a pre-school age, in the ruins of a Czech prefab house damaged by a gas explosion during the night, which raised the number of victims to five, Petr Kudela has told CTK.
Kudela, fighters´ spokesman, said one adult is probably still missing.
The explosion happened at 04:00 on Sunday. It destroyed the whole three-storey house with six flats in the centre of the town.
Eleven people, including a voluntary firefighter and three children, were injured in the explosion.
One woman who suffered burns to 90 percent of the body and a man with burns on more than 50 percent of the body are in a critical condition, Tomas Oborny, spokesman for the Teaching Hospital in Ostrava, north Moravia, said.
He added that the other injured persons´ lives are not threatened.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident. They do not rule out that it may have been a premeditated act.
