Prague - A march in support of the family staged by the Young Christian Democrats, opponents of today´s homosexual Prague Pride march is passing through Prague centre under the patronage of Cardinal Dominik Duka and Christian Democrat (KDU-CSL) senator Jiri Cunek.
The conservative initiative D.O.S.T. Action also supports the family march.
"This event has been convoked as a march for the family and I am convinced that the family is little supported in this state, in our society," Cunek, who addressed the participants, told CTK.
"The family alone can save our nation and also this state, and that is why I have come here," Cunek said.
Petr Jurcik, chairman of the Young Christian Democrats, said the pro-family march is to point to that the interests of the traditional family are not sufficiently protected.
The march started about one an hour before the homosexuals´ are to start their rainbow march.
Another event has been called in the city centre by the Czech Couple to Couple League that says on its web site that it is an international Christian organisation promoting the method of natural family planning.
