S politickou situací je nespokojeno 88% Čechů
Prague - A crushing majority of Czechs (88 percent) are dissatisfied with the current political situation in the country, according to the latest poll by the Median agency released to CTK today.
The pollsters said the public discontent was mainly provoked by disputes around the date of early elections to the Chamber of Deputies, originally scheduled for October but postponed until the regular date, that is next May.
Only 12 percent of Czechs over 18 years are satisfied with the political situation, the poll shows.
Over two-thirds of respondents also expressed fears that domestic political squabbles might harm the Czech Republic's position in the EU.
Out of politicians, President Vaclav Klaus behaved in the best way in solving the situation around the general elections. He received 3.1 points on average in the poll, on the scale from one to five, while one is the best rating.
On the contrary, Civic Democrat (ODS) chairman Mirek Topolanek received the worst rating - four points on average.
A total of 39 percent of the polled were of the view that no party would profit from the postponement of elections.
