Prague - Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) warn of the continued rule of the right that may be formed by the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), TOP 09 and food mogul Andrej Babis's ANO after the forthcoming early election, CSSD leader Bohuslav Sobotka said today.
A vote for ANO (Yes) may be a vote for the presence of former finance minister Miroslav Kalousek (TOP 09) and ODS election leader Miroslava Nemcova in the next government, Sobotka said.
Sobotka also warned of a large number of parties in the Chamber of Deputies.
He said the Social Democrats did not want a disintegrated and blurred lower house of parliament.
"Kalousek's TOP 09 along with the ODS can become a part of the next government through Babis's ANO," Sobotka said.
"Billionaire Babis has never expressly ruled out a coalition with the ODS and TOP 09," he added.
Sobotka also dismissed a post-election cooperation with the ODS and TOP 09.
When asked about a collaboration with the Party of Citizens' Rights - the Zemanites (SPOZ), Sobotka said in his view, the party would not get into the Chamber of Deputies.
"Due to this, Social Democrats are not thinking of this," Sobotka said.
The party unveiled its new slogan for the last week before the election, scheduled for October 25-26.
Instead of the current slogan "We Will Push Through a Well-Working State" it will be "Vote for CSSD! A Well-Working State Can Only be Pushed Through by a Strong Government."
CSSD deputy chairman Michal Hasek called on Czechs to come to the polling stations and give a strong mandate to his party.
