Sobotka recalled that his foreign visit number one will be to Slovakia.

He said Brussels will be his second foreign priority.

"I would like to signal a turnaround in the (Czech) government policy towards the ideas of further European integration," Sobotka told CTK.

According to unofficial information, Sobotka might visit Brussels shortly after Czech parliament takes a confidence vote in his government at a session starting on February 18.

The new prime minister whose government was appointed ten days ago will go to Bratislava on Thursday, February 13.

"I would like to visit the other neighbouring countries this year, too," Sobotka said.

Some of these trips might be organised in the spring.

Sobotka´s first journey was to Budapest on January 29 where an extraordinary meeting of the Visegrad Group was held to react to the unrest in Ukraine. The Hungarian, Polish, Slovak and Czech PMs called for a democratic solution to the Ukrainian crisis then.

Next week, Sobotka will meet Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-Social Democracy). The talks will probably include the transport connection between the two countries and a planned joint meeting of the Czech and Slovak governments.

Sobotka said previously that apart from Europe he would like to focus on the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries.

The Czech prime minister will not go to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games that opened on Friday.
