Prague - The Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) will be running in the forthcoming early general election as number one, the state electoral commission announced after choosing numbers for all the 24 groupings running in the election by drawing lots today.
This seems rather symbolic since the CSSD is the clear election favourite.
The Communists (KSCM) will be number 21, the Civic Democrats (ODS) number six, TOP 09 number four and the Action of Dissatisfied Citizens (ANO 2011) number 20.
The above parties are likely to win seats in the lower house of Czech parliament in the election due on October 25-26.
Other parties that may succeed in entering parliament are the Party of Citizens´ Rights - the Zemanites (SPOZ) as number 15, the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) as number 11, the Dawn of Direct Democracy as number 17 and the Greens (SZ) as number 23.
The numbers define the order in which the polling tickets with the lists of candidates of the registered political groupings will be arranged.
The parties and movements may use the numbers in their election campaigns, on billboards and elsewhere.
