Dalík: Byli jsme varováni, že nás ČSSD nechá sledovat
Prague - Civic Democrat (ODS) leader Mirek Topolanek warned in advance against being spied on during his Tuscany holiday on order of the Czech Social Democrats (CSSD), the daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) writes today, citing Topolanek's friend and lobbyist Marek Dalik.
CSSD PR manager Petr Dimun dismissed the allegation in a written statement sent to CTK.
Czech media released secretly made photos and videos showing Topolanek, Dalik, CEZ power utility head Martin Roman and CEZ lobbyist Vladimir Johanes together in Tuscany.
CEZ recently gained 68 billion crowns thanks to the law on carbon credits.
The Tuscany scandal turned into a verbal fight between the ODS and the CSSD two months ahead of the early general elections in the Czech Republic.
He indicated that CSSD leader Jiri Paroubek ordered influential lawyer Miroslav Jansta who hired former intelligence head Karel Randak who assigned the task to his colleagues from the intelligence.
MfD wrote earlier this week that former intelligence officer Petr Bakes, once Randak's subordinate, probably made the compromising video that Czech media released.
Dalik claimed that the watching cost the Social Democrats 2.5 million crowns.
But Dimun Dalik tries to avert attention from his own property and the need to explain its origin in connection with suspected money laundering and corruption.
Dimun also pointed to the allegedly false rent of the Tuscany villa where Topolanek stayed.
Some media speculated that Dalik bought the villa.
