Referring to an unnamed source, daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) writes today that the nurse conducted euthanasia. She gave seriously ill patients high doses of medicines and helped them die out of mercy, the paper says.

The nurse met the wishes of dying patients, according to available information, MfD writes.

The Rumburk hospital has already sacked the nurse.

The hospital management said the accused nurse gave medicine to a cancer patient at variance with the doctor´s order.

It has not confirmed any other case of suspected euthanasia.

The police said the hospital is fully cooperating with them in the investigation of the case.

The police proposed that the woman be put into custody.
