She had her first meeting with Martin Selmayr, head of Juncker´s cabinet, in Brussels on Thursday.
After the meeting, she said she believed that she had a big chance of heading the regional development portfolio in the EC.
The Czech government is striving mainly for this agenda.
Jourova was originally to meet Juncker on Thursday, but he postponed the date of their meeting until the end of August when he would like to get acquainted with the candidates for EU commissioners from other member states.
This series of meetings will take place closely ahead of the EU summit to be held on August 30, Jourova said.
Later today she told CTK today that the date of her meeting with Juncker is not certain yet and that it may take place at the end of August or beginning of September.
This is why she talked to Selmayr, instead of Juncker, for about one hour on Thursday. She presented her priorities and ideas of the work in the EC to him. She also said she was interested in heading the regional development portfolio.
