Brno - Brno assembly members did not approve any contract enabling the U.S. online company Amazon to build a logistics centre in the city today and the firm will now probably seek another place.
The assembly rejected a contract with the CTP developer on the sale of land as well as a contract with the Road and Motorway Directorate on the construction of a motorway exit.
The assembly members were weighing the rejection of the creation of minimally 1500 jobs against burdening the southern district of Brno with 20,000 inhabitants with more traffic that is excessive there already now.
The assembly of Dobroviz, central Bohemia, approved a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement with a developer who also wants to build an Amazon logistics center at the village by a tight majority of votes on Thursday.
The village is situated close to the Prague Vaclav Havel Airport.
